This hour of Overtime contains two stories
about employees and their musically inclined patients at a memory
care facility on the cusp of the pandemic: "Long Black Veil"
and "Lockdown Blues."

Paul Cioe
taught English, folklore, and journalism at Black Hawk College for
twenty-five years. His short stories, essays, and articles have appeared
in little magazines and Midwestern newspapers. These days, he makes
music as a volunteer guitar picker and singer in nursing homes and
schools in and around the Illinois-Iowa Quad-Cities. He and his amazing
wife and proofreader, Nancy, live in Rock Island, Illinois. |
